Unlike flash cards or other math apps, our learning games for kids are designed to test multiple skills at once and guide kids toward answers.

Monster Math provides a brand new story and a new kind of adaptive gameplay to keep math practice at the right place for kids. Let your kids advance their learning through fun math games with Monster Math today!

What does it teach?

Addition & Subtraction

- Addition up to 5, 10 and 20

- Subtraction up to 5, 10 and 20

- Two-digit addition without carry over

- Two-digit subtraction without borrowing

Multiplication & Division

- Tables of 1 through 10

- Divide by numbers 1 to 10

- Multiply single-digit numbers by multiples of 10

Strengths:

- It has a story mode and a practice mode.

- In-Depth Reporting

    - Kids math progress is easily viewable on Monster Math

    - See how your child progresses through math games with a quick snapshot

    - Snapshots will provide a skill-by-skill analysis and let you know where they need         help

- Monster Math concentrates on Common Core Standards: 2.OA.B.2, 3.OA.C.7, 3.NBT.A.2, 3.NBT.A.3

Weaknesses:

- You have to either pay 9.99 to unlock the full game or pay 59.99 for an annual subscription.

- According to the reviews it seems to have a lot of bugs, but the customer service seems to help pretty quickly.

- The story mode is a little cheesy.

GogoMath: Grades K-5 Learning

This app will work on iPhones and iPads.

About:

Kids will learn CCSS-based math knowledge when they play math puzzles, complete missions to earn awards to raise their own kitten. While they are having fun, you will know they are learning!

• Turn math learning into a joyful experience, make it simple and fun.

• 6,000+ puzzles for various mathematical topics, and multiple game-based learning strategies.

• Personalised math practice for your kids. Experience 'Math At Home'.

• Enjoy the company of a virtual pet friend, to make progress together and encourage to practice every day.

• Challenge your friends and players around the world online, to encourage peer learning.

What does it teach?

• "Math Adventure" will help you learn arithmetic, unit conversion, measurement, geometry, fractions, and more topics, which are based on Common Core State Standards(CCSS).

• "Mental Math" will train your brain to speed up the counting skills.

• "Audio math" will take your math skills to an advanced level, which is to get the answer just by listening to the formula, not need by viewing.

Strengths:

- The game itself is really cute and one thing I appreciate is that it has the child actually write the number with their finger instead of typing in a number.

- There is a cute kitten that you have to take care of and are able to dress using gems collected throughout the levels.

- You don't have to buy the gems, you earn them from playing and doing the math problems.

Weaknesses:

This game also has a subscription of 9.99 a month or 59.99 a year.

- You can only earn a certain amount of gems a day, and you need gems in order to "buy" new clothes or to bathe or feed the kitten, so you can run out pretty quickly and then you have to wait until the next day to earn some more. This is a little frustrating.

I would use both of these apps as a fun game for the student to play after a lesson. They would be able to have fun while still learning! I would also suggest these apps for parents to use at home if they wish to pay for the subscription to help with the child's math facts.
